Dolomite brick is made from Calcined dolomite sand, Usually containing 40% calcium oxide 35% magnesium oxide or more, but also contains a small amount of silicon oxide (SiO2), alumina (Al2O3), iron oxide (Fe2O3), and other impurities.
In recent years, with the exception of natural dolomite sand for brick-making raw materials, but also with milk of lime and water system to synthesis magnesia dolomite sand and create high-quality magnesium dolomitebrick.
Dolomite brick is widely used in alkali converter. In China, converter lining mainly made up of the dolomite brick or magnesia dolomite brick which is made from tar combination. But in Western Europe and Japan, the converter main use heat treatment of tar and oil firing combined dolomite brick and magnesia dolomite brick. In addition, the burnt magnesia dolomite brick was also used for some secondary refining furnace lining.
